Dickerson Park Zoo Springfield Missouri

Dickerson Park Zoo is located in North Springfield, Missouri.

Founded in 1923, it is home to a large collection of more than 450 animals in an attractive setting with lots of shaded walkways.

You can follow a 1.2 mile tour to visit friends from other lands - South America, Australia, Tropical Asia, Africa as well as North America.

A petting zoo is a family favorite. Animal friendly treats bring children and animals close together.

In the aviary and elsewhere, are a variety of birds.

It seemed like peacocks were everywhere.

Ducks in a row near the pond.

In addition to animals from other continents, the zoo features animals from the Missouri woodlands and meadows.

There are Missouri bears and local deer but it was difficult to photograph them through the wire fences.

A variety of Monkeys were active. Some in cages make for poor photos but you'll still enjoy their antics when you visit.

The small collection of African animals made me want to got back to the grand parks of that continent.
