Canary Wharf in the Borough of Tower
Hamlets is an area of East London, near the Isle of Dogs, that is part of
London’s central business district.
It is known for its skyscrapers, such as
One Canada Square, which is the third-tallest building in the UK. It is also a
major financial centre, home to many banks and corporations.
Canary Wharf was formerly a dockland, where ships from the Canary Islands and other places would unload their cargo.

Canary Wharf was
redeveloped in the 1980s and 1990s into a modern urban area, with shops,
restaurants, parks, and gardens. One of the attractions in Canary Wharf is the
Crossrail Roof Gardens, which is a public park on top of a railway station,
with plants from different climates and regions.
