Munich: The Center of Emerging Nazi Power
In 2026, I made one stop at a Nazi site in Munich, which I had not seen on previous visits focused on the Nazi era and the holocaust. The Munich building is on the site of the old Nazi "Brown House" formerly party headquarters for the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers Party) between 1931 to 1945.
The story of the Nazi's rise to power has been told many times and in many ways. Storyboards, photos, and videos are the main ways the local staff show us Munich during the Nazi era. The illustrations are presented in German and English. I'll add a few images so you can get the sense of what's here.
Right-Wing Extremism, Racism, Ethnic Chauvinism
The Hitler Movement in Munich
When Judges Fail
A Failed Bid for Peace
After the War
Democracy and Reeducation
I have several posts about the Nazi era and the Holocaust.
