Camden Market, London England

Camden Market began in 1974 as a small arts and crafts fair near Camden Lock, initially operating only on Sundays. Today there are a mind numbing of some 1,000 stalls, shops, and eateries.

The nearby canal was important for transporting products. Historically, Camden was known for the gin trade. In more recent decades, the market has hosted countercultural influences. For example, The Clash and The Sex Pistols played here.
