Retiro Park, or El Retiro,
is a stunning green oasis in the heart of Madrid, covering over 125 hectares with more than 15,000 trees. It was originally a royal retreat in the 17th century and has since become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors can enjoy its beautiful gardens, such as the Rose Garden and the French Parterre, as well as historical landmarks like the Crystal Palace and Velázquez Palace, which host art exhibitions. The park also features a large artificial lake where you can rent rowing boats, and unique sculptures like the Monument to Alfonso XII and the Fallen Angel statue.
